La Pedevilla

La Pedevilla is a modern refuge, high up in the Dolomites, which had been designed with a lot of sensitivity to its surround. The houses open up toward the valley where large windows retrieve and invite nature into the interior and offer breathtaking mountain panorama views. The light colored interior of the vacation home La Pedevilla is consistently made from local materials. Floors and doors are from pine wood (typical for the mountain region). The walls consist of white Dolomite concrete and the curtains are made from soft local Loden cloth. Through these choices aspects of nature are reintroduced to the interior of the house. Collectively, the contemporary and traditional create an ascetic unity and invite for a visit and contemplation. The calm of the mountains and the balanced architecture are the ingredients for a rapid deceleration at the 1200m altitude.
